From:CTECHI GROUP Limited     Release time:2018-09-20

Overview:Have you imagine that you have a drawer or bag full of all types of batteries, such as li socl2 rechargeable battery, limno2 rechargeable battery, lithium phosphate rechargeable battery and lithium sulfur dioxide battery, but you can't look at them one by one to figure out which are "healthy" and which are dead. Buying a professional battery tester may not be within your budget. And the high school method that is to place batteries on your tongue to see if you're shocked is not only painful, but unreliable. Solution: make a tester yourself.

Have you imagine that you have a drawer or bag full of all types of batteries, such as li socl2 rechargeable battery, limno2 rechargeable battery, lithium phosphate rechargeable battery and lithium sulfur dioxide battery, but you can't look at them one by one to figure out which are "healthy" and which are dead. Buying a professional battery tester may not be within your budget. And the high school method that is to place batteries on your tongue to see if you're shocked is not only painful, but unreliable. Solution: make a tester yourself.

1. Bulb Battery Tester

Each battery tester, professional or DIY, requires power and medium to absorb electricity. This medium can be a light bulb. If you are testing a small battery, please use a very small bulb. Otherwise, the battery will not release enough electricity to light the bulb and give a visible signal that it works.

To build the DIY tester, you need insulated alligator clip leads, battery holders, your battery, a small light bulb and a socket. Use the crocodile clip to connect the bulb with the battery holder. When doing so, please ensure that the positive clip leads into the positive pole of the battery, and the negative lead will enter the negative terminal. Then, one by one, plug your battery into the battery holder to see if the bulb is working. The brightness of light will help you determine how much energy your battery has.

2. Motor Battery Tester

For some types of batteries, such as nickel-cadmium batteries, DIY battery testers may be a better choice than those bought from stotre. The most important component of your DIY tester is medium. Instead of using a bulb, it connects with a small hobby motor. The motor should be as small as possible, because the battery you are testing is only providing low voltage. Connect the battery to the motor, just like you connect it to the bulb. If the motor turns, your battery is healthy.

If you have a multimeter or voltmeter, you can figure out the exact voltage of each battery as it powers the motor. If you do not have one, you can tell from the speed of motor's movement. The faster the motor moves, the greater power the battery has.
