When selecting a battery, it is necessary to understand the difference in the process and use of various batteries, and fully understand the electrical performance of the battery and the user's own demand for product performance.

User demand for the product. For example, backup power system capacity requirements, frequency of use, environment used, main use, service life, reliability requirements, instantaneous discharge rate, rectifier specifications, and other battery related performance requirements.

The supplier's product commitment. Product design parameters (battery model, appearance size, rated capacity, rated voltage, weight, weight ratio energy, volume ratio energy, design life, number of positive and negative plates, positive and negative plate thickness ratio, electrolyte density, plate Type, grid material, etc., product electrical performance parameters, actual product life, installation and use environment, performance and price of different models, different types of product warranty period.

Select the appropriate battery model based on the discharge capacity at full power-off:

Cc=Kk·Cs/Kc

Kk - capacity reserve factor, take 1.25.

Kc—capacity conversion factor, corresponding to the discharge termination voltage of 1.8V, check the design manual battery discharge capacity and discharge time curve.

Cc—A long-term discharge capacity under the state of full stop of the accident.

The battery specifications are described in IEEE Std. 485. After determining the cycle life of the system, the user can easily select the battery specifications. In choosing the right battery to use, consider the following factors:

Kt – Temperature correction factor allows the battery to function properly in the expected minimum temperature environment.

Kd – Design margin factor that allows the battery to compensate for additional loads.

Ka – Aging factor that allows the battery to meet its useful life.
